Applications Open for 2026 Holiday Assistance
The holidays can bring both joy and financial stress for grandparents and other older relatives who are raising children. Through our annual Holiday Assistance Program, Sunbeam Family Services partners with the Oklahoma City Police Department, the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, and TRIAD volunteers to help make the season brighter for grandfamilies across our community.
Selected families will receive wrapped, personalized holiday gifts for the grandchildren in their care. This special program is made possible through generous community partnerships and grant funding.
How to Apply
To be considered for holiday assistance, please complete the application and provide as much information as possible.
- Application Deadline: October 12, 2026
- Time Required: Approximately 45-60 minutes
- Notification of Approval or Denial: By November 10, 2026

Eligibility & Priority Consideration
Because resources are limited, priority consideration is given to families who are currently participating in Sunbeam’s Grandparents Raising Grandchildren support groups.
If you are not currently connected with Sunbeam Family Services, we encourage you to learn more about our Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program and the support, resources, and community available to grandfamilies.

Sunbeam offers grandparents in-person and online support groups. Our care navigators can also connect you with resources like mental health and early education centers, and back-to-school and holiday support.

SUPPORT GROUPS
Kinship Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (KGRG) support groups are friendly and private. You can talk and listen to other grandparents and learn about helpful resources. Our support group locations are accessible for everyone and are ADA-compliant.
Please RSVP to attend in-person meetings each month. These meetings include a meal and may include childcare.
