Strengthening Your Family at Home through Early Head Start’s Home Visitation Services

Did you know the first 5 years of your child’s life are important? In fact, 90% of your child’s brain grows before kindergarten. Early learning experiences have a big impact on your child’s health and how they will succeed in school and life.  Children who complete this school readiness program are better prepared for elementary school and are more likely to finish high school, attend college, and succeed in their careers.

Sunbeam is enrolling pregnant moms and children from birth through 3 for home-based, Early Head Start Home Visitation services, which provides weekly educational visits in your home with you and your child. Home Visitation is open to eligible families based on income.
Home Visitation provides:
  • Weekly 90-minute visits in the comfort of your home or at another location.
  • Personal Learning Plans: Educational activities tailored to your child’s age and needs which help them learn and develop important skills—like thinking, talking, and getting along with others. Your child will also grow in areas like language, problem-solving, and motor skills.
  • Health: Health screenings, referrals, and we help your child stay up to date on immunizations and check-ups.
  • Mental Health: Mental health support for children and families, including telehealth options and Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health consultation
  • Early Birds: This free program gives you important information, activities, and educational toys and books to use with your child. This helps you prepare your child for school.
  • Parent Education Classes: These free classes help you learn how to create nurturing routines, manage feelings, communicate needs, and more.
  • Family Support: We’re here to support you with resources and assistance, whether you need help finding a job, housing, or other services. We work with local organizations to make sure your family has access to a wide network of support. We also provide home visits and help with goal setting!
  • Free diapers and wipes
