Assistant Teacher -

This position serves as classroom Assistant Teacher for an early childhood classroom with a direct focus on infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children. The Assistant Teacher will work collaboratively with a Lead Teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom. The Assistant Teacher also works with a team of other classroom teachers and family members to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates of Art (AA) degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with minimum of six credit hours specifically related to early childhood education
  • Or High school diploma or GED with a Child Development Associate (CDA), Child Care Professional credential (CCP) or Certificate of Mastery with minimum one-year experience working with young children, 2-3 years experience a plus.
  • Or 12 or more credit hours in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with minimum one-year experience working with young children, 2-3 years experience a plus. 

Additional Job Requirements

  • Clearance of background check and drug screen
  • TB screen required
  • Physical required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English ideal.

Lead Teacher - 

 

This position serves as classroom Lead Teacher for an Early Childhood classroom with a direct focus on four children in Early Head Start or nine children in Head Start. The Lead Teacher will work collaboratively with an Assistant Teacher to ensure the successful operation of the classroom.  The Lead Teacher also works with a team of other classroom teachers, staff and family members to achieve outcomes for children of all abilities. 

Education and/or Experience 

  • Minimum BA in Early Childhood Education, or a related field. (Official Transcripts Required)
  • Minimum of 6 college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and 9 college credits in education, psychology, health care, nursing or another field closely related to child growth and development required.
  • Demonstrated experience effectiveness in training and supervising teachers and teacher assistants.

 Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

  • Teachers leading classrooms for 3-year olds must have OTC within 12 months of hire.
  • Teachers leading classrooms for 4-year olds must have OTC.

Teacher Aide - Full-time

This position serves as classroom Teacher Aide for an early childhood classroom with a direct focus on infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children. Marketing/Development Internship:  

Supervised By: Director of Marketing and Development 

Program Benefits:  

Sunbeam’s Marketing and Development Internship will provide intern participants with a realistic, involved perspective of public relations, marketing and development/fundraising within a non-profit agency. During the course of the internship, valuable, resume-enhancing skills, experiences and abilities will be acquired. Interns will assist in marketing and development functions for the agency, as well as for Sunbeam’s Counseling, Early Childhood Services, Foster Care and Senior Services programs.

 The participant will have a unique opportunity to see how an agency’s marketing and public relations activities are managed, how to successfully work with and utilize volunteers, how to generate funding for non-profit programs, how to write grants, event planning, how to garner public awareness for an agency’s social service programs, and so much more. This is a wonderful opportunity to build an impressive portfolio, increase your professional networking opportunities, help some incredible people in need, and have fun while doing it!

 

Hours: Flexible; Based upon individual schedule. Non-paid; College credit available
